Two major players in our decision making include our prefrontal cortex (AKA our higher brain) and our lower brain, which is more primitive in nature. In order to change the game in our weight loss journey (and our life in general), we have to rely more on our prefrontal cortex while essentially ignoring our lower brain, since one is more about long-term results and creating a healthier future self, while the other is all about seeking immediate pleasure and comfort.
