If you’re in the mood for a dip you can have with vegetables, crackers (I love Mary’s Crackers and Skinny Crackers), or tortilla chips (love Beanitos), but you are so done with hummus, then I have just the thing for you. Don’t get me wrong; I absolutely love hummus, but sometimes, ya know, you just crave something different.
This black bean dip is garlicky and flavourful, and it’s so easy to whip up in a flash. And, you really don’t need that many ingredients, so that is a super bonus.
Try it when you’re looking for a change, and let me know what you think! And also, if you have any questions, comment below.
Black Bean Dip
1 can black beans (approximately 400 ml), rinsed
1 large garlic clove
2 large pieces onion (each piece being about the size of a large garlic clove)
1/4 cup fresh parsley leaves
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp water
1/2 tsp cumin
3/4 tsp Herbamare (or sea salt)
1/4 tsp black pepper
With the food processor running on high, drop in the garlic and onion. You may need to scrape the sides with a spatula in between blends.
Add the rest of the ingredients and blend. Again, you may need to pause and scrape the sides before blending for the final time.
Enjoy, my friends!
