This Valentine’s Day, I encourage you to give Love Bites to as many people as you can… your neighbours, aunts and uncles, coworkers, siblings, and oh, of course, your significant other. Silly me, I almost forgot.
Before you press “exit” and write me off as a psycho, let me explain. Love Bites, in this case anyway, are not what you may think. (Now who’s the psycho who thought I meant anything but?) These are the kind that don’t require wearing a turtleneck to work the next day. These Love Bites are chocolatey, ooey gooey pieces of deliciousness that require, oh, about 5 minutes of your time.
Sound doable? I’d say so.
Indulge with your honey this V-Day by giving each other Love Bites. Lots of fun will be had. 🙂 Enjoy, and Happy (early) Valentine’s Day!
Love Bites
1 cup love (they are called LOVE Bites after all…)
1/2 cup sunflower seed butter (I used Sun Butter. Be sure to get the ‘organic’ one, since the others contain evaporated cane juice… i.e., sugar.)
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups brown rice crispy cereal
1/2 cup whole oats
Mix together sunflower seed butter and honey, then stir in cocoa powder. Mix in brown rice crispy cereal and oats, stirring until all ingredients are mixed nicely. Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty; sometimes this helps in mixing everything together, and it’s way more fun. Press the mixture into a bendable ice cube tray (the ones I used had the shape of little hearts). Pour your love into every Bite (this is the key ingredient). Freeze for 30 minutes and then enjoy! Note: you can store them in the fridge, but I personally prefer them after 30 minutes of freezing, so you can do that before you serve them as an option).
